Windfarm Assessment Tool (WAT) is a software for site suitability assessment of wind turbines and wind farms. WAT is included in the WAsP Bundle, and it uses mainly results from WAsP and WAsP Engineering to calculate and assess properties in accordance with the methodology of international standards.

Main new features
We added a model for power loss by high-wind hysteresis. The wind speed time series is modelled by a stochastic model, allowing frequency and duration of shut-down events to be modelled by first-passage-time probability functions.
The annual energy production (AEP) estimates in WAT and WAsP depend on air density corrected power curves. WAT can now read the barometric reference information for site-specific air density from a generalized wind climate (GWC) file. This makes it easier to match AEP estimates by the two programs.
